Borderland - Forum for Asylum Seekers and Refugees aims to strengthen the participation of asylum seekers in the public asylum debate. A number of hunger strikes over the last few years highlight a situation where asylum seekers often are compelled to extreme and sometimes dangerous means of expression - or to silence in the public debate. Borderland aims to help change this situation.

Borderland's web page will focus on presenting asylum seeker's own views. The asylum seekers' organisations and groups that take part in Borderland can use the web page to publish articles, and Borderland will invite a few individual asylum seekers to write regular letters about their life in Norway.

Welcome to the launching of the new organisation Grenseland/Borderland! The launch will take place Saturday October 11 at 20.00 at "Fabrikken" in Oslo, with a festivity for asylum seekers, refugees and Norwegians, and particularly dedicated to the asylum seekers at Lier ventemottak. With Ravi and DJ Løv, Samsaya, Haddy N'jie, Damtew Ayele, Nasibu a.k.a. Ras Nas, Yusuf Arba and Ali Osman Egeh, Carl Petter Opsahl, and Hooga Troopers. Host: Hannah Wozene Kvam.
