Borderland is led by a board which is formally responsible for the administration, finances, etc.
– Rune Berglund Steen (Chairperson). Steen is cand. mag. from the University of Oslo. He worked as a teacher 1996-1999. He worked for the Norwegian Organisation for Asylum Seekers (NOAS) 1999-2007, from 2001 as Head of Policy and Research. April-May he was Head of Information at the Forum for Environment and Development (ForUM), and from June 2008 Assistant Director of the Horizon Foundation/Mela Festival.
– Kieu Tran. Tran is a Master degree student in Social Sciences. Through the Support Group for Stateless Boat Refugees, Tran played a central role in convincing the Norwegian Parliament to bring 198 stateless Vietnamese refugees from the Philippines to Norway. From April 2007 she has worked for the Strømme Foundation with poverty related issues. She is Deputy Chairwoman of the Vietnamese Refugee Council.
– Frode Kristoffersen. Kristoffersen worked for many years at NOAS, starting out in 1988 as personal secretary to then Secretary General Annette A. Thommessen. He was Head of Administration in NOAS 2000-2007. Among many other positions, since 2002 he has been attached to the Horisont Foundation as an Adviser and Deputy Director of the annual Mela festival.
– Antje Bomann-Larsen. Bomann-Larsen is Master of History of Ideas from the University of Aarhus, Denmark. From 2008, she works as an Adviser for Akershus Fylkesmuseum. Amongst other experiences, she has worked for NOAS at Tanum transittmottak, and for the Afghan Refugee Committee (ARC).
– Abdirahman Mohamed. Mohamed is a Master of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Oslo. He has been a Chairman of the Somali Student Association (1995-1997). He has worked with unaccompanied minor asylum seekers for Oslo municipality (1996- 2000). From 2006 he has been associated with PRIO as an Adviser for Migration and Remittances. In addition, he has experience as a private businessman and entrepreneur.
